About Us
Little Hedgehogs Day Nurseries Ltd is an Ofsted registered Early Years provider offering early years education for children aged 0-4 years old.
We offer childcare in environments that are safe, fun, educational and nurturing.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for all children in our care. The EYFS sets the standards for the learning, development and care of all children from birth to 5 years in England & Wales.
We currently have three chelmsford based settings.
All our settings are around 2 miles from Hatfield Peverel and less than 5 miles from Chelmsford Town centre. All our settings are within walking distance of the new train station at Beaulieu Park.
Our staff
Our team consist of highly qualified and experienced educators who are passionate about early childhood development. Our teams are trained to recognise and respond to any concerns, and we follow clear, immediate reporting pathways.
The safety and wellbeing of every child in our care is our highest priority.
Through strong leadership, trusted relationships, and robust systems, children are safe, seen and supported at Little Hedgehogs.

Little Hedgehogs Day Nursery & Preschool at St. Annes
St. Annes is a fully integrated nursery setting offering full day, all year round, placements for children aged 0-4 years old.
All the children in our care are encouraged to share the entire setting between them, regardless of their age. We operate a non segregated environment, creating a fully integrated and nurturing family environment. This helps create secure attachments and helps build on speech and language skills and personal, social, emotional development (PSED) development.
Set within a large detached, double storey nursery we offer free-flowing rooms for children aged 0-4 years old. With two designated sleep rooms, and a separate dining area, our children are truly in a home from home environment.
Our fully enclosed garden supports the stimulating learning environment, offering lots of outdoor activities including outdoor kitchen, mud play area swing and sensory play.
We have a vegetable garden plus various garden pets.
Little Hedgehogs Preschool at School House
School House Preschool is an Ofsted registered setting providing early years education to children aged 2-4 years old.
School house is detached setting set within its own spacious grounds adjacent to Boreham Primary School. Working in close partnership with Boreham Primary School we provide opportunities for the children to experience school before they enrol in full time education.
School house is open 50 weeks of the year, offering free flowing rooms for all the children.
Little Hedgehogs Preschool at Garden Cottage
Our beautiful single story Preschool is set within a walled garden with woodland surroundings.
It offers a large internal room for children aged 2-4 years old to explore, a walled grassed outdoor area as well as a spacious rear garden.
Garden Cottage Preschool offers a school style day, term time only.
Garden COttage is also our curriculum base.
Preschool funding & Extra curricular activities
At Little Hedgehogs we are pleased to be able to offer Universal & Extended Funded Early Education Entitlement. Funding is available to your child in the term following their eligible birthday.

Testimonials
The provider and staff help children to prepare for the next stage in their learning, such as school. They are in tune with children's emotional, physical and educational needs. Staff prepare detailed summaries of children's development to share with Reception teachers, in partnership with parents. As a result, children experience a seamless move to school.
